It amazes me how much being around creative people increases the flow of one's own creative juices. Especially when it starts out with us all being silly. Last night I sat down with Andrew, as has become our Thursday tradition, to write the Stardust thing. (Chronicles, Files, whatever.) It started out well enough, and we did eventually get a pretty interesting scene typed, but it was only one scene...we were planning to make it farther. However, I was the one mainly typing, being faster and a little better, and we wanted to get the scene out before we lost track of it. So Andrew and Jamie were talking and I would zone in every once in a while. Somehow, we started talking about X-men. Who we loved, who we hated, the relationships we liked and so on. Then it got to what powers would we want. Then what powers would we have. Then how our powers would develop and how we would use them. Then came the location and how we would meet...it grew and grew and I didn't make it out until well after our standard eleven o-clock break point. It rocked hard. Just having fun with creative people rocks hard. I want to write now, I want to draw, I want to do something...but I can't. I have to go fail my Latin exam. Ugh. Edit: I most likely did not fail. However, it would take EFFORT to fail Latin. So yeah. We'll see. Tags: creativity, friends, school, writing
